Buford’s own Lydia Ledford has earned a prestigious spot on the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Late Season Team, an honor that places her among the top 40 high school basketball players in Metro Atlanta. This recognition is a testament to her hard work, skill, and leadership on the court this season.
What is the Atlanta Tipoff Club?
Founded in 1956, the Atlanta Tipoff Club was established to celebrate and elevate basketball talent across the state of Georgia. The organization is best known for presenting the Naismith Awards, which honor the top players and coaches in high school, college, and the professional ranks. The club’s Girls and Boys Selection Committees, led by some of the most respected coaches in the state, carefully evaluate and recognize the best basketball talent in Georgia each year.
What This Means for Lydia and Buford Basketball
Being selected for the Late Season Team is a major achievement, as it means Lydia is being recognized as one of the best players in the highly competitive Metro Atlanta basketball scene. This distinction also places her in consideration for additional honors in March, including:
